This week, thousands of A-level students will receive their results with a hope that they will heading to university. For those who don’t achieve the conditional grades the first option will be clearing which in itself can be a stressful process. According to UCAS, the number of places accepted through clearing was a record last year including huge increases from Russell Group universities who are all competing for students to fill places. Which? University has some great advice for prep before making that clearing call with a guide to download: https://university.which.co.uk/advice/clearing-results-day/ucas-clearing-how-to-call-universities

The BBC also has some advice on staying positive: https://www.bbc.com/bitesize/articles/zfqykmn

What they all say is “don’t panic”. There will be a solution out there and it may well turn out to be the best option for you in the long run. A year down the road and these few anxious days will be history.
